41 years ago, expanding the research enterprise was the impetus for TUFF’s very first investment. Today, research enablement remains central to the TUFF mission.
Since the early 1980s, by developing vibrant innovation campuses, TUFF has enabled institutions to expand their research enterprise. Among other achievements, our developments have helped institutions:
- Increase research expenditures by a factor of 20
- Perform preclinical testing for cardiovascular and orthopedic devices
- Facilitate cybersecurity and information assurance research
- Test new devices on behalf of the US Department of Defense
- Support hundreds of technology startups with funding, services, and education
