Don A. Blackston
Assoc. Director of Facilities Management & Services
Mr. Blackston is currently serving as the Associate Director of Facilities Management & Services for Spelman College since 2009. Mr. Blackston is a certified Educational Facilities Professional as examined by the Institute for Facilities Management (APPA). Prior to Spelman employment, Don provided construction program management services, as a Program Manager with Clement & Wynn Program Managers, on a variety of building types with extensive experience on buildings of higher education. Projects have included new construction, renovation and award winning restoration projects. Mr. Blackston is a member of the Association of Physical Plant Administrators (since 2003). Mr. Blackston has been a member of the Southeast Region of Building Commissioning Association (SERBCA) and served on the Board of Directors from 2005 to 2010. Mr. Blackston has a Bachelors Degree of Architecture from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has been a member of the National Organization of Minority Architects (since 1998) and served as the NOMA Atlanta Chapter Secretary (1999-2005). Mr. Blackston has also been a member of the Society for Colleges and University Planning (since 1998).
