Jim Nicolow

Jim Nicolow, AIA, LEED AP BD +C, is the Director of Sustainability for Lord, Aeck & Sargent, an architectural firm with offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan; Atlanta, Georgia; and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  His role is to facilitate the incorporation of sustainable design strategies and features into the firm’s design projects and to spearhead efforts to integrate the use of quantitative analysis to inform the firm’s sustainable design work.  Nicolow has extensive knowledge of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green building rating system, and has successfully led the certification process of numerous projects ranging from certified level through platinum.  A frequently published author, Nicolow was named one of Building Design & Construction magazine’s “40 Under 40” in 2007.
