Educational Facilities Best Practices Summit
After speaking with many of our College and University partners, TUFF decided to be the presenting sponsor for this summit in order to further assist the communities of higher educational and research that we serve. Though this is the first such summit that we have sponsored, we have sought and received feedback from the community and selected topics of interest to you and recruited speakers of the highest caliber in their fields. The topics selected will provide insight for Business Officers, Facilities Managers, Campus Planners and all Executive leadership.
Speakers range from the Director of Higher Education at the Center for Green Schools at the USGBC and the Managing Director for USAA Real Estate to the Director of the Environmental Center at the University of Colorado-Boulder (founded in 1970) and the lead architect/designer on the Georgia Aquarium. Topics range from a discussion of the “low hanging fruit” in Best Practices in Energy Management to complex issues involved in How Sustainability Creates Value and Underpins Broad Campus Outcomes.
We are excited about all of the sessions to be presented, but one requires a little additional planning. The tour of the Centergy complex, which is located immediately across the street from the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center, will be available at three different times during the conference (see agenda). This tour will include numerous cost savings measures (at little or no capital cost) that have been instituted in the complex that have decreased energy and water consumption, as well as landfill waste, significantly over the past 5 years. The building recently received LEED EB Silver from the USGBC. Since these tours will have limited capacity, if you are interested, please sign-up for the respective tour during your online registration.
We look forward to seeing you in the fall, and please remember that space is limited to the first 100 registrants.
