The University Financing Foundation recently committed to a gift of $250,000 to the University System of Georgia Foundation.  The gift was made to support two key areas for the USG Foundation – the continual need to build capacity in development offices at USG institutions and for need-based scholarships at any USG institution.  Through work with USG Foundation staff, TUFF identified a competitive process for development offices to seek Capacity Building Grants which will provide funds directly to those development offices to build capacity in three main areas – data analytics, talent strengthening, and executive leadership training.  The USG Foundation has identified those three areas as the highest need in development offices across the state.  Development offices will submit proposals and a review committee created by the USG Foundation will review those applications and award grants to two institutions.  Those intuitions receiving the grants will be coached by the USG Foundation staff as well as staff from high-performing development offices in the system.  University System of Georgia Regent Neil Pruitt, chair of the USG Foundation commented “These grants provided by TUFF will change the trajectory of these development offices and provide and teach staff in those offices best practices around fundraising.  TUFF recognizes that the health of an institution is directly related to its ability to raise money and the USG Foundation is very thankful for this gift and TUFF’s continual support.”  TUFF has also supported need-based scholarships for many years and will continue that effort through this gift.
