TUFF continues to be a proud sponsor of Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) & Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID)’s flagship annual celebration event.

The 2025 Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration held on January 28, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta was an opportunity to commemorate the previous year’s achievements and look ahead to what’s next. The event honors the people, places, and businesses shaping Downtown’s exciting future. There’s no better opportunity to network with associates, meet new contacts, and stay informed on what’s happening in the heart of the city.

Each year leaders and institutions that have had an indelible impact on Downtown Atlanta are celebrated with awards. This year’s winners were:

  • Dan & Tally Sweat Award: Tom Bell
  • Marcus Downtown Economic Impact Award: Carter
  • Warner Bros. Discovery Community Leadership Award: Camille Russell Love

The Dan & Tally Sweat Award

A champion of “doing the right thing” for Downtown Atlanta, Dan Sweat served as a past CAP President, leading the district through challenging seasons for Atlanta’s business and political communities. The award, designed to honor Dan Sweat’s heritage and accomplishments and renamed in 2020 to also acknowledge the accomplishments of Tally Sweat, is given to business and/or organizational leaders who have become quiet, effective leaders beyond the scope of their positions in the community. Each year, CAP selects a business and/or organizational leader who, like the Sweats, demonstrates true leadership and advocates for “doing the right thing” for Downtown.

The Warner Bros. Discovery Community Leadership Award

Established in 2003, the Warner Bros. Discovery Community Leadership award identifies and celebrates Downtown’s “unsung heroes.” Recipients embody the true meaning of quiet leadership, continually working on the community’s behalf to make Downtown a better place for all by means both large and small. While award winners may not appear on the traditional radars of the corporate and organizational leadership world, their grassroots efforts make them all the more worthy of recognition.

The Marcus Downtown Economic Impact Award

Created in 2008 and renamed in 2016 to honor Bernie Marcus for his contributions to Downtown, the Marcus Downtown Economic Impact Award recognizes an individual, company, or project that has stimulated revitalization efforts that strengthen and advance Downtown at large. The award’s selection criteria include both quantitative and qualitative impacts, from increasing investment dollars to leaving a “positive mark” on the community. This award is given to the people and places we consider to be “game-changing” for Downtown’s development.

Annual ADID Awards

Each year at the event, ADID presents four awards: Ambassador of the Year, Public Space Team Member of the Year, Supportive Services Team Member of the Year and Atlanta Police Department Zone 5 Officer of the Year.
