The portable, less-invasive BinaxNOW COVID-19 Ag Card antigen test, costing $5 with results in 15 minutes, has received the FDA’s marketing authorization for shipping in September. With students returning to school in the fall, this rapid testing promises to help greatly reduce the spread of the virus. The test’s developer, Abbott Labs, is a tenant of Technology Enterprise Park (TEP), an 11- acre biomedical engineering facility in Georgia Tech’s North Avenue research area. Completed in May of 2007 the TEP project was financed and led by The University Financing Foundation and included renovating and integrating existing facilities as well as designing and constructing new ones.
