Since October 19, 2009, Thomas W. Ventulett, III has served as Director on TUFF’s Board of Directors and most recently as Chair of the Board. Under his leadership, TUFF has financed $2 billion of education and research projects through 42 different transactions. These projects have reshaped the landscape and character of the institutions for which the projects were developed.

In 1968, Mr. Ventulett co-founded Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates (TVS), an architectural firm, which has been honored with over 260 design awards such as the Notional AIA Honor Award for McCormick Place in Chicago, the Honor Award for Urban Design for the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, the 2002 National Architecture Firm Award, and the 1977 college of Fellows of the AIA. Under his guidance, TVS Design became a leader in the profession of architecture by advancing contributions to architectural design and excellence.

For 14 years, Mr. Ventulett has been dedicated to assisting and enabling institutions of education and research across the United States with projects and solutions that otherwise could not be completed but for the involvement of TUFF. He has always represented TUFF with great character, integrity, vision and honor, and has been the finest ambassador an organization could imagine in a Chairman of the Board. With his retirement, Mr. Ventulett has become a Director Emeritus for TUFF.

On behalf of the entire TUFF family, we extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Ventulett for his exemplary leadership and dedicated service. We are truly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind, and wish him a well-deserved retirement filled with happiness and contentment.
