Association of University Research Parks (AURP) member, University of California Davis (UC Davis), and the City of Sacramento announced the creation of a new 25 acre innovation district on the university’s medical center property adjacent to the UC Davis Health campus. The development, called Aggie Square, is planned to offer over 1 million square feet of research space, civic parks, entertainment venues, and residential. UC Davis Chancellor, Gary May, said the campus would serve as a research center, teaching space and job creator aimed at providing the university with a strong presence in California’s Capital City of Sacramento. The site will be modeled after Technology Square, a globally recognized innovation destination developed in part by The University Financing Foundation (TUFF) and hosts thousands of university, industry, and government partners within a seamless development in Midtown Atlanta.
