Joseph joined TUFF in April 2023 as a Financial Analyst Intern.
Joseph is a finance major at Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business. Along with being a member of Georgia State’s Honors College, he has been awarded with multiple merit-based scholarships and has earned a spot on the President’s List with a 4.0 GPA every semester of his college career. This led to his recognition as a top business student by the university, making him a member of the selective Panthers on Wallstreet Cohort. Also at Georgia State, Joseph has made a significant impact on the leadership development fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega, serving as the Treasurer and improving their financial capacity.
At The University Financing Foundation, Joseph has gained a wealth of knowledge through the mentorship of seasoned professionals from a variety of backgrounds. He has gained direct exposure to multi-million-dollar domestic property acquisitions and creative bond refinancing. Joseph has learned about macro-economic trend interpretation and further developed his perspicacity in quick interpretation of financial statements (such as 990’s, audited financials, and credit ratings). Perhaps most importantly, TUFF has exposed Joseph to an environment of acute professionalism that has prepared him for successful relationships in the finance industry. Joseph has curated an instinct for due diligence and accuracy in all his work through the contagious learning environment that is TUFF.
Before joining TUFF, Joseph developed his accounting, marketing, and client acquisition skillset through the development of a sports memorabilia e-commerce store that made over 1.4 million impressions in 2021 and produced nearly six figures in revenue.
Following his graduation in May 2024, Joseph Covington plans to start a career in Private Wealth Management. He continues to learn every day about the world of finance both through his work at TUFF and his own pursuit of financial certifications such as the SIE and Series 65.
In his off time, Joseph enjoys running, swimming, hiking, and being outside. He is working towards the challenge of a 100 Mile Ultra Marathon.
